- "Puongtong Simaplee's death at the Villawood Detention Centre in 2001 put the issue of trafficking for prostitution in Australia on the national agenda for the first time. Gradually the full extent of the problem, and details of the web of criminals who trade in women, was revealed. Trafficked tells the stories of women and girls trafficked to Australia and kept aginst their will. It charts the campaign - and the sometimes unlikely alliances - that forced government to act, and spells out a program of further reforms needed to dramatically improve policing and offer women a viable way out of the sex industry."--Provided by publisher
