- Summer, 1939. Warsaw. Young translator Harry Chase and Polish waitress Kasia Tomaszeski are deeply in love, but when US reporter Nancy Campbell discovers German tanks poised to invade, Harry grows desperate to save Kasia from Warsaw's fate.
