- Summary
- Rebecca is a capable, resilient woman wildly in love with her rugged husband Andy who owns Coolibah Creek Station in outback Australia. A savage drought brings the couple to their knees, with stock dying of hunger-induced weakness and the outlook for rain bleak. When a family friend in the region does get good rain, Andy and Bec devise a plan to walk their remaining breeder herd over a hundred kilometres to take advantage of the now green pastures at his property, Balmacarra ... Bec and Andy's nearest neighbours, Doug and Maggie O'Donnell, appear incredibly mismatched. Doug is an overbearing, opinionated bully who shows little regard for his meek and mild wife Maggie. Little does he know that Maggie is having a passionate affair with one of their stockmen. When Maggie becomes pregnant, she is torn between her love for the stockman and her devotion to her and Doug's two teenage boys ..
