- "Henry Blinkhorn drowned when his boat capsized in the Severn estuary. So how come his photograph appears to show him happily fishing in The Angler six years later? The insurers who paid out a small fortune on his death have hired private investigator Chris Honeysett to track down the elusive Mr Blinkhorn and prove he's still alive. But the painter-sleuth is sidetracked from the investigation by the sudden disappearance of his life drawing model, Verity Lake. When he discovers that Verity had good reason to disappear and is hiding out on the canals, Honeysett sets off in pursuit on a borrowed narrowboat. It doesn't take him long to realize that he in turn is being followed, and that his pursuers are willing to go to any lengths to achieve their sinister purpose."--Book jacket
