One of the country's most prolific handball players George Macris has been inducted into Randwick Council's Sporting Hall of Fame. After learning to play the game at St Mary's Cathedral College in the 1930s, Mr Macris went on to win an astonishing 26 state handball titles and eight Australian titles over half a century. The 93-year-old Kingsford resident said he was delighted and surprised to receive the honour. "I'm way past my playing years, but apparently I've been held in higher esteem than I thought, so out of the blue came this, " he said
