- Despite his awkward galloping style, few racehorses could match Might and Power's speed and stamina, and the fans loved to watch him dominate a race. In 1997, having won the Caulfield Cup by a staggering seven and a half lengths, he chased his greatest prize, the Melbourne Cup, and resisted the valiant attack of outstanding stayer Doriemus to triumph in one of the tightest finishes ever. When he followed his Cups double with a Cox Plate in 1998, the horse known as Mighty was the undisputed champion of the Australian turf.
