Summary
Four months after the end of the war, Hitler's personal physician Theo Morell stated to his fellow prisoner Karl Brandt: "In fact, Hitler was never sick. " Brandt, who had been responsible for the "euthanasia" killings and was thus deeply implicated in the crimes of the Nazi regime, disagreed

Summary
Although evidence shows that Hitler probably suffered from Parkinson's disease and irritable bowel syndrome, nothing can be found that indicates he had serious medical problems. What about drug addiction to substances such as sedatives containing barbiturates, the stimulant Pervitin, the morphine derivative Eukodal or even cocaine? Through the use of four archives and SS files, including the diaries of Theodor Morell, Hitler's personal physician, Neumann and Eberle conclude that much of this speculation also has no basis in fact. This leaves the obvious cause as some type of mental illness. Sixteen glossy pages of black and white photographs appear in the middle of the book, as well as photocopies of prescriptions and medical letters elsewhere. A helpful glossary and list of abbreviations can also be found in the beginning pages. Neumann is emeritus professor of medicine at Charité, while Eberle teaches contemporary history at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
