Summary
Politicians aren't usually known for revisiting the past, but a chance discovery of the tombstone of a local politician has Randwick councillor Tony Bowen embracing local history. Cr Bowen wants to restore the monument of John Campbell McDougall, Randwick mayor from 1906-1908, after it was discovered in Randwick Cemetery. The monument, a white marble angel on a white marble block with a detailed inscription, was recently uncovered by Waverley Council workers during excavation works at the Malabar Rd cemetery in Coogee
